“I have a loan debt”
A new one was added to the dismissals with the Code-29 in Migros, Onur Market. Kenan Alkan, who worked as a personnel and customer service driver at Onur Market’s branch in Şişli, refused to do any work outside of his job description. Thereupon, Alkan was dismissed on the pretext of Code-29. Alkan, who made statements on the relevant issue and stated that he was insulted and threatened by the market managers, said, “I cannot find a job because I was fired with Code29. I also had a loan. They said that there is a life policy when taking the loan, and you don’t need to pay for a while in case of being fired etc.”
The unfair dismissal of Onur Market’s personnel was on the agenda on social media. While many people said that they would no longer shop from Onur Market, they stated that this mistake should be corrected as soon as possible.
