First Quarter 2018 Bitcoin’s Worst Performance Ever

Digital gold Bitcoin is completing the first quarter of the year in a negative direction.

According to CoinDesk’s data, the price, which was $13,412.44 at the beginning of January, has dropped to $7,266.07 as of March 30, a decrease of 45%. It means a loss.

Bitcoin’s market volume decreased by close to 115 billion dollars in this period, while this amount and percentages were recorded as the first quarter decline in the history of bitcoin.

According to CoinDesk, bitcoin last dropped close to 38% in the first quarter of 2014.

Since 2011, when CNBC started tracking prices, bitcoin 599% in the first quarter of 2013 , breaking a record by exceeding $19,000 last year.

This decline is seen as a result of the extraordinary rise experienced at the end of 2017.
