Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan, will no longer talk about Bitcoin

JPMorgan CEOJamie Dimon, who previously called Bitcoin a ‘fraud’ and was accused of manipulating the market with these comments, said that she will no longer comment on Bitcoin.

Speaking to CNBC, Dimon said:

“I won’t put this in the category of the important things in the world, but I won’t talk about Bitcoin anymore.”

JPMorgan’s chief Chief financial officer Marianne Lake said her bank is “open-minded for digital currencies that are properly controlled and regulated.”

Dimon has been tough on Bitcoin in the past. During an event hosted by Barclays on September 12, he compared Bitcoin to the Tulip Bubble in the Netherlands in the 17th century, and said that it was even worse than that. Not only that, Dimon stated that Bitcoin would be targeted and banned by governments, and referred to Bitcoin as “fraud”. Because of these comments, Dimon was accused of manipulating the market.
